JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for someone who wants to work at our probation office in Frivården Borås, in a role focused on security, service, and controls, where client contact is included.

In the role of a correctional officer in probation, you contribute to a safer and more secure society. Job responsibilities include ensuring safe entry control and monitoring clients under electronic supervision, which includes both home visits and workplace visits, as well as various service assignments.

It also includes technical handling and readiness for enforcement with electronic control and community service checks. Part of your working time will be spent with a colleague in a car, as we have large geographical areas to cover. You will closely collaborate with probation inspectors, administrators, and the correctional supervisor, who is your immediate manager. You will work according to a schedule in a team with your colleagues. The schedule includes both evening and weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role places high demands on personal suitability. As a correctional officer with service assignments in probation, you need to be secure, stable, and have good judgment. Together with your colleagues, you plan and carry out the daily work, so you need to be flexible and have good teamwork skills. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You should be both structured and someone who strives to deliver solutions to both technical and practical challenges.

It is important that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in the potential for human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally with your approach. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education or other education in combination with work experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant.
• Work experience, including seasonal work, hourly employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills.
• Driver's license (manual) with good driving experience.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Relevant work experience in one or more areas of corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social services.
• Experience in security control/access or other technical work.
• Knowledge or experience in conflict management or client-facing work.
• Other language skills are advantageous.

OTHER

We place high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. For this position, a security clearance interview will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective. You will receive more information about the security clearance during your employment interview.
